The Law on Use of Energy Resources is the enabling legislation for the various policy  instruments used by the government to make energy resources utilisation more efficient and accessible. It requires registry of energy resources used at enterprises and, for organisations with annual consumption of 1000 tons or more of fuel, the presentation of a report regarding their utilisation efficiency and related aspects. Furthermore, there are provisions for the use of economic measures to promote energy resources rational utilisation, such as increased taxation for energy resources superfluous utilisation (above established standards) and subsidy from the rational energy utilisation fund to enterprises developing and applying energy saving technologies.
