Swiss Energy Strategy 2050

The Swiss Energy Strategy for 2050 aims to reduce the country's dependency on fossil fuels, by developing renewable energy supply.

The strategy has been revised in May 2017, and has identified the following major actions:

reduce energy consumption,

increase energy efficiency,

promote renewables,

prohibit the construction of new nuclear power plants,

upgrade the electricity grids.
