Energy Code for New Federal Commercial and Multi-Family High Rise Residential Buildings
10 CFR Part 434 establishes minimum energy efficiency standards for design of new Federal commercial and multi-family high-rise residential buildings where design began before January 3, 2007. Based on ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1989, it mandates efficiency requirements for building envelopes, electrical distribution, lighting, HVAC, water heating, and energy management systems, excluding buildings under 100 sq ft or those with minimal conditioning loads.
Energy Efficiency Standards for the Design and Construction of New Federal Commercial and Multi-Family High-Rise Residential Buildings
10 CFR Part 433 establishes energy efficiency performance standards for new Federal commercial and multi-family high-rise residential buildings with design start dates after January 3, 2007. It sets maximum fossil fuel-generated energy consumption limits for buildings and major renovations commencing after May 1, 2025, and requires green building certification for projects beginning after October 14, 2015. Standards reference ASHRAE 90.1 baseline buildings from 2004 through 2019.
Energy Efficiency Standards for the Design and Construction of New Federal Low-Rise Residential Buildings
10 CFR Part 435 establishes mandatory energy efficiency performance standards for new Federal low-rise residential buildings and major renovations, including maximum allowable fossil fuel-generated energy consumption limits for projects with design-for-construction dates on or after May 1, 2025, and green building certification requirements for projects beginning on or after October 14, 2015. Standards apply to EISA-subject buildings exceeding $2.5 million (adjusted annually).
