Unified platform launched to support legislative coordination and integration among Gulf states

Riyadh — Jasem Albudaiwi, secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), inaugurated the Unified Gulf Legislation Platform in a ceremony held at the general secretariat headquarters of GCC in Riyadh on Sunday. This is regarded as a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the exchange of legal expertise and advancing legislative coordination and integration among the Gulf states. Currently, the platform hosts more than 24,700 legal and legislative documents and offers advanced search capabilities. These features enable governmental and legal entities in member states, as well as specialists, researchers, and individuals interested in legislative affairs, to efficiently access, review, and benefit from both unified Gulf legislation and national legislative frameworks. The platform represents one of several initiatives launched to strengthen legislative integration across GCC countries. It provides access to unified Gulf legislation issued within the framework of joint Gulf action and serves as a comprehensive electronic reference that supports legislative and legal work throughout the GCC. Designed with flexibility and ease of use in mind, the platform allows users to quickly and effectively retrieve the legislative information and documents they require. The first phase of the electronic integration project for national legislation includes Bahrain and Oman. Meanwhile, the relevant authorities at the general secretariat are continuing efforts to complete integration with the remaining member states in subsequent phases. This will further enhance the platform’s comprehensiveness and support the achievement of its objectives, including the development of the joint Gulf legislative framework and the provision of valuable resources for researchers, specialists, and decision-makers across GCC countries.
