The Clean Growth Infrastructure Royalty Program (CGIRP) encourages new capital investment in oil and natural gas infrastructure. Specifically, the CIRCP is focused on reducing methane emissions through equipment retrofits and replacements and conversions of venting sources at upstream oil and gas sites.

Applicants seek a deduction from royalty payments, for investments made to reduce methane emissions. They are selected based on the cost relative to the projected reduction in pollution. Winners can receive up to 50% royalty relief.
