These regulations establish the requirements for petroleum operations in offshore areas to ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with good industry practice and to ensure that regulatory authorities receive necessary data about offshore operations.
The regulations require companies to notify the authorities of the results of exploration activities, submit field development plans and well management plans prior to beginning production, and to submit periodic production reports detailing the amount of hydrocarbons produced, flared or vented, among other requirements.
