Oslo adopted a measure in 2017 to strengthen the availability of private charging infrastructure. This regulation mandates that new buildings must have at least 50% of the parking facilities equipped for electric car charging. The grid capacity must also be designed to charge at 3.6 kW all of the vehicles in the building without any need for smart charging to prevent local power shortages.
