Both SMEs and larger industries across numerous sectors are eligible to bid into the competitive tender, which aims to increase the energy efficiency while reducing the CO2 emissions of industrial/commercial plants and processes. Particular attention is given to the use of renewable energy to generate process heat as part of proposed energy efficiency investments. As a competitive tendering scheme with several tenders a year, the program awards the funding to bids with the most economic cost-benefit ratio (euro per saved ton of greenhouse gas emission).
