Thermal Insulation in Buildings Regulation” which was published on 08.05.2000 is considered as the first main regulation dealing with building energy performance issue in Turkey. This regulation required buildings to be insulated according to rules explained in “TS 825: Thermal Insulation Requirements for Buildings” national standard. The standard regulated only building thermal heating requirements and aimed to set limits on heating energy demand of buildings according to climate regions using static simple calculation techniques.
