The program assesses and certifies energy efficiency of buildings in terms of energy consumption and CO2 emission in order to improve energy efficiency. Korea Energy Agency estimates CO2 emission and energy consumption for heating, cooling and hot water supply of a buildings based on their design documents and issue certification ranging from level 7 to level 1 +++ (total 10 levels).
The program is applicable to existing buildings and new buildings for all purposes including individual housings, apartments and dormitory buildings, buildings with cooling or heating areas greater than 500 m2, and office buildings.
