The draft Bioenergy Plan published in 2014 establishes the broader context for the development of Ireland’s bioenergy sector. This includes actions across the energy sectors. A key demand-side measure in the heat sector in the development of a new Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (previously termed the Renewable Heat Incentive). There are also supply-side measures such as the development of supports to incentivise investment in forestry and bioenergy crops.
