National Strategic Development Plan 2012/13 - 2016/17 (NSDP) is a medium-term plan aligned with a long-term plan of Vision 2020 that guides country’s developments in all sectors.

One of the goals enlisted in the Plan is to develop green energy infrastructure to improve safety and reliability of electricity supply. Also the goal is to improve energy access via expanding electricity distribution network to greater number of households.

The Development Plan indicates solar energy, onshore wind and hydropower with pump storage are key renewable technologies that country will be developing. Energy efficiency and biofuels development are also indicated as of great importance for the country.
