The Chinese Taipei government has enacted the Renewable Energy Develoment Act to reduce CO2 emissions, improve energy diversification and promote green-energy industries.
The Act was enhanced in 2019 to notably set as objective the expansion of the total amount of electricity generated by renewable energy power generation to more than 27,000 MW by 2025. Targeted categories are solar, geothermal and ocean energies, wind power, biofuel, non-pump and storage hydropower and renewable hydrogen power.
