In November 2025, Ireland completed its second offshore wind auction under the Offshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (ORESS), awarding contracts through a competitive process with price support of €98.7/MWh. The scheme provides long-term revenue stabilisation (two-sided CfD-type mechanism) for offshore renewable electricity projects, supporting deployment and investment in offshore wind. ORESS forms a core instrument to achieve Ireland’s renewable electricity targets, including 80% renewable electricity by 2030, by reducing market risk for developers through guaranteed pricing.
