ES 6892:2021 sets efficiency requirements for three-phase AC induction motors with a capacity ranging from 0.75 kW to 375 kW. Under this law, the minimum allowable efficiency for any motor in this category must be no less than the IE2 (High Efficiency) class. The regulation also defines higher performance tiers, including IE3 (Premium Efficiency) and IE4 (Super Premium Efficiency), to facilitate the development of a market for energy-conserving technologies. Furthermore, the policy mandates that the energy efficiency class must be declared on the nameplate of the product, and these standards must be maintained even during repair, maintenance, and replacement.
