The Framework Law on the Environment stipulates that activities likely to have an impact on the environment are subject to prior authorization, granted on the basis of an environmental impact assessment (Article 14). Operators of natural resources must use appropriate methods to ensure the regeneration of sites or natural resources (Article 48). Finally, the Framework Law on the Environment establishes an Environmental Intervention Fund, intended to finance environmental protection and restoration activities (Article 21).
