Formerly known as the "Alternative and Renewable Fuels and Vehicle Technology Program."
As of July 2024, it has allocated USD 234 million to hydrogen refueling infrastructure and USD 21.9 million to renewable hydrogen production, out of a total USD 2.3 billion in support. For FY 2024–2025, USD 15 million is allocated to HRS and USD 38 million to medium- and heavy-duty ZEV infrastructure. No further investments are planned in these areas through 2028.
