A total of €640 million has been allocated from the National Recovery Fund to support the development of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production capacity, hydrogen refueling stations (HRS), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The funding targets projects with a minimum capacity of 20 MW, with preference given to those exceeding 70 MW. The maximum subsidy available is €2,000 per kilowatt for production, with a cap of €320 million per project. The tender was launched on December 20, 2024, and remained open until February 2025, with selected projects expected to be announced by June 2025.
