In April of 2022, a grant of $44.9 million was awarded to Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) for their electrolyser manufacturing facility planned for Aldoga, Gladstone, Queensland.
On 8 April 2024, FFI's green energy manufacturing centre was officially opened. The facility will produce green hydrogen at an industrial scale using a fully automated production line and several cleanroom robotic assembly cells and lines.
