The Swedish regulation on ozone depleting substances (ODS) complements the EU’s ODS-regulation. In Sweden, the manufacture and use of ODS is completely prohibited. Certain limited exceptions exist for the use of HCFCs in specific refrigeration, freezer, and air conditioning equipment and heat pumps that have been in operation since June 1, 2002 and the use of halons in certain fire extinguishing systems (so-called critical uses).
