The law comprises amendments to the Energy Act, the Electricity Supply Act and the Spatial Planning Act and the Forestry Act.
In line with the Act, if no remuneration agreement is reached, a price based on the quarterly market price on the European electricity exchange will be applied across Switzerland. The Federal Council has established minimum remuneration rates for smaller plants as follows (according to the consultation draft): up to 30 kW = 4.6 centimes/kWh, 30 to 150 kW without self-consumption = 6.7 centimes/kWh, and 30 to 150 kW with self-consumption = no minimum remuneration.
In addition, electricity suppliers are forced to increase the efficiency of electricity use.
