The Rural Energy Master Plan (REMP) 2022/23 to 2029/30 supports the operationalization of Tanzania's objective for expanding access to modern energy services in rural areas in line with Sustainable Development Goal number 7 and the Government SE4All action Agenda.
As explained in the plan, the overall total cost for 8 years is USD 6,044 million, combining government funding, development partners and private sector funds. Regarding government spending, the Rural Electrification Agency is providing budget allocations to this purpose.
