The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has launched the Climate Change Mitigation Pilot Program, which prioritizes the processing of patent applications related to technologies that reduce, remove, prevent, and/or monitor greenhouse gas emissions. This program aims to expedite the innovation process for climate change mitigation technologies. The USPTO will accept petitions under this program until either June 7, 2027, or when a total of 4,000 applications have been granted, whichever comes first.
