As part of the Future Made in Australia plan, the Australian government announced measures aimed at increasing the production and uptake of low-carbon liquid fuels and green metals.
Specifically, this measure allocates:
AUD 20.9 million to study incentive mechanisms to support the production and consumption of low-carbon liquid fuels and to develop a certification framework through the Guarantee of Origin Scheme.
AUD 18.1 million to support enhanced industry and research collaboration, to improve the use of scrap metal and to study incentive mechanisms to support the production of green iron, steel, alumina, and aluminium.
AUD 11.4 million to a Guarantee of Origin Scheme for green metals and hydrogen.
