The Indigenous Leadership Fund is one of the four funding stream within the Low Carbon Economy Fund. It aims at financing renewable energy, energy efficiency, and low-carbon heating projects led by indigenous communities.

In 2022, a specific grant was allocated to the Atlin Hydro Expansion Project, to expand a two-megawatt (MW) hydropower facility in Atlin B.C. by an additional 8.5 megawatts of winter energy, and export the additionnal output through a new transmission line.
