The Energy Code provides a framework on objectives and instruments for fossil-fuel and renewable sources of energy.
This code defines the feed-in tariffs and premiums for all renewable sources, and are adjusted regularly through new orders.
In 2025, the photovoltaic part of the scheme allowed producers to use their own solar power and sell excess electricity to EDF at a fixed price of 4 cents per kWh compared to 12.69 cents before. It also provided an investment premium of €80 per kWc and introduce a reduced VAT rate of 5.5% starting October 1, 2025 for installation less than 9 kWc.
