Australia has announced various sanctions on Russia following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sanctions were first introduced in 2014 and later upgraded in 2015, 2022, and 2023.
The measures announced in 2014 were specifically related to designated and declared persons and entities, while the measures introduced in 2022 included restrictions on the import, purchase or transport of certain commodities, such as oil, refined petroleum products, natural gas, coal, aluminium ores, alumina and related products, as well as other energy-related products.
