In 2994, the DOE launched a year-long public education and awareness campaign called "Powerful $avings". The campaign provided consumers with the information and tools necessary to make smart energy choices a part of their daily lives. The outreach campaign included the dissemination of video, audio, and print news releases. It was launched in partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy and continued the "Smart Energy" campaign, launched in 2003.
