Mexico's Energy Transition and Sustainable Energy Utilization Fund (FOTEASE) was created in 2008, within the framework of the Energy Transition Law. Among the projects financed by the fund is the Distributed Generation Program, which seeks to  facilitate access to new distributed clean generation technologies through the granting of incentives for the acquisition of photovoltaic and efficient cogeneration systems.
