The UK carbon price support tax aims to reduce revenue uncertainty and improve the economics for investment in low-carbon generation for the UK electricity generation sector. The carbon price support tax was introduced because the EU allowances price has not been stable, certain or high enough to encourage sufficient investment in low-carbon electricity generation in the UK.
