The CHIPS Act of 2022 is part of the CHIPS and Science Act (also known as CHIPS or CHIPS+) which provides incentives for domestic semiconductor manufacturing projects and related R&D activities. Government funding is provided through different grant streams and a manufacturing tax credit, including :
The International Technology Security and Innovation Fund provides funding for initiatives seeking to establish coordination with foreign government partners to create semiconductor and other supply chains
The Workforce and Education Fund supports the training of highly-skilled semiconductor specialists
