Greenland’s Mineral Strategy 2020-2024 lays out the vision of the Self-Government on how activities related to mineral resources will generate revenue, stimulate the economy and create jobs.
The Strategy contains 5 priority areas: 1) improved sharing of geological knowledge, 2) efficient, predictable and transparent case administration, 3) simplified transition from exploration to exploitation, 4) sustainable development of the mineral resource industry including through the employment of local communities, 5) competitive tax and royalty model. Each priority area is associated with objectives – in total 13 objectives – which are to be achieved through the implementation of 34 initiatives. Objectives include supporting and simplifying the application process for small-scale licenses, increasing access to data, and improving information about consultation processes.
