In response to the global energy price crisis, the Portuguese government implemented a specific temporary support scheme subsiding gas prices for consumers that do not benefit from previously enacted measures targeted at low-level consumers returning to a regulated tariff system.

Gas consumers whose annual consumption represents more than 10,000 m3 will get a direct discount of up to EUR 40 per MWh, until the end of January 2024.
