In 2023, the UK government is allocating dedicated funding to local authorities, providers of social housing and charities to subsidise energy-efficient home retrofits, with a focus on social housing, through both its Home Upgrade Grant scheme and the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) .
The Home Upgrade Grant targets around 25,000 low-income households across England. The Wave 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund aims at facilitating the implementation of energy performance measures in social homes located in England.
