Under the supervision of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the King Salman Energy Park Project (SPARK) was launched in 2021 as part of the Vision 2030 projects in Saudi Arabia. The new industrial city of SPARK, located in the Eastern Province, aims to produce clean and sustainable energy and support sectors that contribute to the energy transition in the country while diversifying Saudi Arabia’s revenue and improving the security and supply chains of major Saudi energy companies.
The objectives of SPARK include also the development of a new international standard infrastructure for investors in the sectors of oil and gas exploration, production and refining, as well as petrochemicals, conventional power production, and water production and treatment.
In partnership with Affordable House Co, the sustainable construction of SPARK’s residential complex will integrate eco-friendly technologies, smart systems and solar panels.
