In order to protect consumers from the global energy price crisis, the government of Honduras enacted a cross-subsidy scheme to cover the electricity consumption of households using less than 150 kW/h, from February 2022. In addition, electricity retail prices were frozen for 3 months from July 2022. The government is compensating the public utility for the costs incurred.
