The Ministry of Economic Development granted EUR 37.5 million to Midac to carry out research, development and innovation activities at the Soave site envisaged by the second important project of common European interest in the field of batteries (IPCEI Batterie 2), authorized by the EU Commission.
The investment is aimed at "strengthening the competitiveness of the company in order to foster strategic autonomy, also through strong synergy and integration along the entire Europe value chain, from raw materials extraction to design and production of batteries, to recycling and introduction into the circular economy circuit [...]"
The Midac project, launched on 1 January 2022, will end on 31 May 2029.
