UK government awarded GBP 9.4 million for the new hydrogen project at the country’s largest onshore wind farm near Glasgow. The project, developed by ITM Power and BOC, in conjunction with ScottishPower’s Hydrogen division, aims to produce hydrogen for storing energy and providing zero-carbon fuel to accelerate the clean energy transition, especially in the transport sector. The Whitelee hydrogen project is funded through the BEIS Energy Innovation Portfolio, Storage at Scale competition; the funding recipients are ITM Power and BOC.
