The Department of Energy (DOE) announced on 7th July $52.5 million to fund 31 projects to support clean hydrogen technologies, as part of the Energy Eartshot initiative. The goal of the Hydrogen Shot is to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen by 80% to $1 per kilogram in 1 decade ('1 1 1'). DOE funding includes $36 million from the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and $16.5 million from the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM).
