The funding awards 99 advanced nuclear energy technology projects in 30 states. Of the total USD 61 million, USD 58 million will go to US universities. The selected awardees will enhance nuclear energy infrastructure, increase safety of nuclear waste storage, and improve resiliency of nuclear reactor facilities. The funding provided by these awards supports students and faculty engaged in outstanding research and strengthens university training infrastructure. Awarded projects also receive financial support for facility access and expert assistance for experimental testing.
