The Technology commercialisation fund (TCF) was created with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to help deployment of market-ready energy solutions, by strengthening the partnership between DOE’s National Laboratories and American entrepreneurs.

The TCF has funded over 380 projects by unlocking more than USD 170 million from over 300 private sector partners, including companies in the energy, automotive, and aerospace industries. To receive TCF awards, national lab teams must secure a commitment from private sector partners to match at least half of the anticipated federal funding.

The new selected TCF projects represent 12 National Laboratories across the US, supported by partners in 25 states and four countries, and will be awared with grants for a total of USD 65 million.
