In order to foster investment in the gas sector, the government of Argentina have developed a gas scheme covering the years 2020 to 2023.

Objectives include:

- Foster investment in natural gas by subsidising its price

- Meet the need of hydrocarbons of the country and substitute gas imports

- Retain jobs in the gas sector

The plan is expected to save thousands of jobs from the industry, and enable tax and currency saving from the drop in imports.
