The first Energy Efficiency (EE) and Emissions Reduction Network was launched in Chile, promoted by the Energy Program Renewables and Efficiency (4e) of the GIZ, in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Sustainability Agency.
The mining sector is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gas in Chile, and about 30% of Chilean electricity is used to extract and process raw materials. The network is composed of 14 small, medium, and large mining companies, which will combine their experience to improve the sector's efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
