The European Union unveiled a new strategy: Forging a climate-resilient Europe - the new EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change. This strategy urges for more and better data to improve knowledge of how to adapt to climate change. It comes at a time when the severe effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on health and socio-economic wellbeing are a stark warning of the dangers of insufficient preparation against the adverse effect of climate change. Non-binding targets of this strategy are the following: reduce the knowledge gap, increase data-sharing across governments, international coordination, close the climate gap for a more resilient Europe.
