The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture announced up to USD 100 million in competitive grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for activities through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP), which is designed to expand the availability and sale of renewable fuels.

The program applies to vehicle fueling and fuel distribution facilities converting to support fuel ethanol blends above 10% (USD 86 million) and biodiesel blends above 5% (USD 14 million).

The funds will be dispersed through cost sharing and/or offering incentives for the installation of fuel pumps, related equipment and infrastructure. Grants are for up to 50 percent of total eligible project costs, but not more than USD 5 million.
