Australia's Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) are part of the broader Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) program. The E3 program aims to increase the energy efficiency of appliances and equipment used in Australia and New Zealand. As at December 2010 May 2019, MEPS covers 17 22 product types including refrigerators, freezers, clothes dryers, electric water heaters, air conditioners and electric motors. Swimming pool pumps and portable air conditioners will be added in 2020.
