The EnerGuide rating demonstrates the energy performance of a home, providing a consumption-based rating measured in gigajoules per year (GJ/year). The EnerGuide for homes program is funded under the Budget 2017 Energy Efficinecy in Housing, Inductry and Transportation which has been allocated $67.5M in the first four years and $15.9M in ongoing federal funding. The EnerGuide Rating System initiative was previously funded under the ecoENERGY Efficiency initiative, which allocated CAD 195 million in federal funding over five years (fiscal year 2011/2012 to fiscal year 2015/2016).
