Directive 2016/2284 of 14 December 2016 set out the Member States’ commitments to reduce the emissions into the atmosphere of the anthropogenic pollutants: sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), ammonia (NH3) and particulate matter (PM2.5), as well the requirements for the preparation, adoption and implementation of national air pollution control programmes.
Poland’s commitments to reduce its emissions cover two periods: from 2020 to 2029 and from 2030. The reduction commitments were defined with respect to the emissions in the reference year 2005.
The elaboration of this document meets the requirements of the Directive mentioned above. The KPOZP indicates the measures and scenarios for Poland’s achievement of the emission targets laid down in the Directive.
