The Slovak Office for the Supervision of Nuclear Power Plants (ÚJD) issued on 13 May 2021 a permit for the commissioning of unit 3 of the Mochovce nuclear power plant. Now with three PWR reactors, the Mochovce NPP provides more than one fifth of the Slovak electricity supply. This share is likely to increase in the medium term with the opening of a fourth unit projected for 2023.
